Default Washer fills till it over flows
Brand: Kenmore
Age: 5 - 10 years

I have a five year old Kenmore washer that overfills, it won't stop filling unless you pull the dial out. We replaced the water level switch, but it didn't help.
I can blow though the hose without difficulty, Please tell me what to do next.

You probably need a new water fill valve, it's the part that your hoses on the back connect. They get sand or grit in them and cann't be cleaned must be replaced.
Also the hose for the water level switch you replaced, if it leaks air it will act as you say. cut 3/8 ths inch off each end and put it back on when washer is empty and try again, could be as simple as that

If you can shut the water off, at the timer, it would not be a water valve. If you remember the clear plastic hose you said you blew through, you might want to see if it is on the sump. Lean, the washer back, and look on the back side, and make sure the hose is connected. Tom ApplianceEducator.com

Thankyou so much I had a hole in the tube, now it fills correctly.
But after I fixed the tube and put it back together, the agitator isn't working right, it's making a loud click noise and not agitating very hard.
Any ideas?

If you grab the top part of the agitator with your hand and turn it to the right, and then turn ut back to the left. When you turn it back to the left if the base of the agitator, does not go back with it, you need the agitator dogs. Pull the agitator, and seperatew the top half from the bottom half. Once I get it out, I set it on the floor, and put my feet on it, and the pull hard and fast up on the top part. Tom ApplianceEducator.com

I turned the top of the agitator to the right and then to the left, it did go left with me. Is there anything else I can try?
P.S.
Added new feature, I just tried it again on a small load setting, now it also
makes the lights dim amd brighten in the utility room, in tune to the noise it makes.
