my washer fills with water and i used to just slam the lid and it would start the cycle. but now i slam and slam and it just wont start. i think its the lid switch but i dont no how to tell if its broke.

You should hear a clicking sound when the lid closes.

Try using a Popsicle stick or something that you can activate the switch with.

It may be the actuator that is broken.
