Help ??? Washer fill and won't spin or agitate. the motor is making humming noise. I check the lid switches it's ok. I used the volt metre to test the current output from the timer to the motor it was 120volt .

this is a maytag problem that they are fully aware of. you have what they describe as a "door latch" defect. class action lawsuit back in 2005 over this and they lost. check out their website to see all the info and check if your model is affected. my model is front loading and is doing the exact same thing. call your maytag man!
