Question Washer - At end of spin washer rumbles like tub is off track
Brand: Whirlpool
Model Number: GSQ9364HQ0
Age: 5 - 10 years

Need some help.
My Whirlpool top load washer funs perfectly UNTIL IT FINISHES ITS SPIN CYCLE. Than it RUMBLES as it tries to stop the inner tub from spinning.
It sounds like the inner tub disengages from the brake or something.
Does anyone have ideas of what I would need to do to fix. Parts and possible general instructions. I'm good at mechnical, just need some direction.
Thanks in advance.

This could be the basket drive or the clutch assemble that is causing the rumbling.

Here is a link to your washer model GSQ9364HQ0.

To remove the cabinet so you can inspect the basket drive do the following:

Unplug the washer.

Remove the two screws in the control panel and flip it up to the wall.

Remove the two brassy clips in the corners.

Disconnect the lid switch wiring harness.

Open the lid of the wash and tip the cabinet toward you and lift at the same time and move the cabinet out of your way.

You will now have a good view of the working parts.

If you have to replace the basket drive you will have to remove the inner tub in order to remove the transmission.
