If the modle # starts out 110. XXXXXXXX Its Whirlpool made. Its going to be a motor coupler (links motor to tranny). There are 2 metal "straps" 1 on top 1on bottom facing motor(from standing in fromt of unit) with a 1/4" screw holding them in. Remove 2 screws. Put flat head screwdriver under where you took screws out and release strap. MOTOR WILL DROP DOWN. Disconnect wires from motor. The broke coupler will be on the motor, the tranny, or both.

Didnt mean to "Steal your thunder" there. Wasnt trying to be a "no (know) it all", just merely trying to help out someone in need. Was the info provided incorrect?

Default Thank you

Sure enough, the problem was just as you said. The motor coupler was broken.
I appreciate you providing this info.

Thank you again.

Unhappy broken again

Ok I install copler and mounted everything back in reverse order. I loaded the washer with clothes, Everything was working just fine until I noticed the tumbler was a little tilted. I then stoped the wash cycle and tried to move the tumbler (I think I heard a snap sound) then all the water started draining from the bottom of the washer to the floor.
After emtying the washer cleaning the mess and disasembling everything again I found that when I had mounted the tumbler back in to the bottom frame a triangular floating metal part that seats between the frame and the tumbler was out of place and one plastic flange on the bottom of the plastic enclosure of the tumbler was seating on top of it instead of on the side of it. when I tried to move the tumbler I actually cracked the plastic enclosure. I am going to try and remove the plastic enclosure to put an epoxy patch or maybe a rubber patch. If anyone has any suggestion on how to fix the enclosure please let me know.

By the way, how do I separate the tumbler from the plastic enclosure? Do I need a special tool? inside the tumbler I see a round metal part with 3 notches.
