Washer was workin fine it completed a load when we went to start new load it would not do anything. When I opened the top panel I discovered the fuse was blown (near lid switch). I replaced with new fuse and it blew again. I checked the "larger" lid switch with a meter while it was still wired and it showed it was always closed. However when I remove the wires and check the switch by itself it works properly according to the meter.

Help would be appreciated!

If the fuse blew in the lid switch one of the switches is sticking causing a short circuit.
