Default Washer Dead - Burnt Electrical Smell
Brand: Maytag
Model Number: PAV2300AW
Age: 5 - 10 years

First time DIY - looking for diagnostic method - hoping it's not the motor. The belt looks good, and I can turn the pulley by hand if that helps... Thanks in advance for any advice.

Determine where the smell is coming from.

Check the wiring to the timer.

Check the lid switch with a meter.

Does the motor smell burnt.

Here is a link to your washer model PAV2300AW.
