Default Washer --cold water trickles
Brand: Maytag
Model Number: LA506
Age: More than 10 years

Hot water flows fine. Cold water just trickles. I purchased a new inlet valve. Installed it and the problem is the same. Did I buy a faulty valve or is it something else.

You should have a screen filter in the water hose where it attaches to the washer. Take in out and clean it and run some water in a bucket to flush out the hose. Sediment etc. can stop up the filter and the valve. The sediment has a chance to settle out of the hot water in the hot water heater so you usually don't trouble with it.
