Unhappy Washer is being filled with water when idle
Brand: Maytag
Model Number: SE 1000
Age: 5 - 10 years

After washing cycle the washer is being gradually filling with water when idle.
I guess there is a water valve problem.
My questions:
1) Is this a part # PS60530, which should be replaced?
2) Where can I get explicit instructions for this repair?

Thank you.

Yes the part that you have selected would be the cause of the water coming in when idle.

To change the water valve shut the water off at the taps.

Unplug the washer.

Pull the washer out and remove the hose from the washer.

There should be a screw holding the water valve bracket in place. Remove the screw and pull the valve through.

With a pair of pliers remove the wires.

Make sure that you mark the wires so you know which are for hot and which are for cold.

Remove the small hose.

Thanks a lot, Sheila,

I'm looking forward to get this part (water valve) and to replace the old one as you've described.

Best wishes

Vik
