Default Washer
Brand: Whirlpool
Model Number: LSR7233BQ2
Age: More than 10 years

My Whirlpool washer does not agitate or spin, it fills and drain , so clothes are wet. I went to appliance store and explianed the propblem and I was given coupler and black rubber parts, as there is no belt.

I tried to bring washer down saw motor and other matal (round) part, but could not remove it all. Please advise and help if it can be done without calling repairmen.

Thanks.

Your washer is what is call a front service model which mean that you don't have to move it from its installed position to work on it.

Here is a what you will have to do to replace the coupler:

Unplug the washer.

Locate the two screws in the control panel and remove them. One in each corner.

Flip the control panel up toward the wall.

Locate the two brassy looking clips in the corners of the cabinet and release them.

Disconnect the wiring harness for the lid switch.

Open the washer lid and tilt the cabinet toward you and lift it and place it out of your way.

Remove the two clamps holding the pump in place. You do not have to remove the hoses.

Disconnect the wiring harness on the motor.

Remove the two bracket holding the motor in place and lower the motor.

Install the new coupler and reassembly.
