Default Washer
Brand: Frigidaire
Model Number: FWX6970EW1
Age: 5 - 10 years

Tub spins excessively while it agitates, in wash or rinse cycle. So it does not wash or agitate clothes effectively unless the tub is held back some from spinning excessively.

What does the washer do in the spin cycle?

The reason I am asking is to see if it is something in the transmission.
