Default Washer
Brand: Amana
Model Number: NAV6800
Age: 1 - 4 years

Belt was broken, I replaced it. Washer works but when it enters spin cycle I can tell that it is straining to start the spin and when it does get going, it is very loud.

When going through a spin yesterday there was a rubber (belt) burning odor.
The spin was interupted. The motor would run, but the spin would not start.

I noticed that the tub was free, I moved it about halfway around and it engaged with something and the machine will go into a spin again, but still under strain.

HELP.

Jim

Remove the belt.

Check and make sure the the tub is turning freely.

Make sure the pump is turning freely.

Here is a link to the parts of your washer model NAV6800.
