I've got a hotpoint washer that doesn't agitate. It will spin the clothes and drain water fine. What is the possible problem, how can I fix it and how do I get it apart to fix it? Thanks for the help

The spline could be stripped.

The spline is part of the transmission.

Check your agitator.

There are groves inside the agitator that slide down over the spline. These could also be worn.

Before you order any parts you may want to have it checked out by a technician.
