Default Unhooking a Washer
Brand: White-Westinghouse
Age: 5 - 10 years

I am selling my washer/dryer tonight and getting a new set installed on Saturday. How do I unhook the water from the washer without causing it to leak for the next four days (but still allowing us to have water in the house!). There appears to be a hose-type valve connected to the water hookup - is it likely that all I have to do is shut that off until the new washer comes?

I'm sorry to bother y'all with something so minor, but I'm a little nervous about having an open pipe!

Yep, that's it. Just turn that off like you would any other faucet. The only water that should escape will be what is in the hoses themselves right now.
