Default Un'bear'able grinding noise
Brand: Maytag
Model Number: mah3000aww
Age: 5 - 10 years

sounds as if the main bearing(s) is/are shot. removed rear access panel to inspect. fluid has passed through the bearing (rusty residue slung all over the inside cabinet). this concludes me to believe the seal and bearing(s)need replacement. Q#1---can i get just the seal and bearing(s) to do this repair or do i have to get the entire outer tub assembly as suggested by maytag service?

also the inner tub doesn't stay in the centered position, it sort of lays at the bottom of the outter tub and lips of both the inner and outter tubs are shreddingaway at each other. the clothes do not come out of the spin cycle as 'dry' as they used to either.

thirdly, no cycle of water flushes the bleach/softener dispenser anymore.

send the cavalry, your input would be appreciated.

The only way to get the bearing from Maytag is to buy the outer tub.

You will have to inspect the spinner shaft and see if it needs to be replaced.

The tub laying toward the bottom is likely caused by the bearing being worn.

It is likely the valve that need to be replace if the water is not going in the dispenser.

Here is a link to your washer model mah3000aww.
