Water will not stay in tub when turning on could this be a p[ump issue or, fill valve? pls help

What is happening it there is an air lock in the drain pipe.

Remove the drain hose from the stand pipe and then put the hose back in the pipe.

Make sure that the drain hose is as high as the top of the washer.

The pump will only pump the water out in the spin cycle.

The fill valve allows water to enter the washer.
