Default Tub still is in agitation during spin cycle
Brand: Maytag
Model Number: pav2300 aww
Age: 1 - 4 years

hi all,

this is a maytag performa. when the unit hits the spin cycle it continues to agitate, the motor will not change direction so it can spin. did not want to buy a whole new control/timer module. tell me what I can meter out and replace, or am I stuck having to buy a new one? I am pretty sure that the model number listed above is correct. I already flipped it over, and did the gear/brake inspection thing, the bottom stuff looks flawless, its gotta be in the motor control somewhere.....

Tom

Pull front cover and turn tranny pully one way for spin, other way for agitate. If ok you have a bad timer.

I found the way to pull off front cover and I found that the motor part could move back and forth a little bit (it is surprise to me since I thought it should sit on the metal frame and should not move). Is there anything wrong here?
I could pull the belt one way for spin, but I fell that it is hard to move. The agitate part is pretty smooth.
I also check the belt and it seems not broken. What should I check next?
Anther information: It could spin last week before I fixed the water overflowing issue. But I did not touch any part with the timer. any idea?
Thanks
