Default Tub spins while agitating
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: wpsq3120t
Age: More than 10 years

The tub spins while in washing mode. Is the transmision the part that holds the tub still while washing and if so is it worth fixing a ten year old washer for $155.00 instead of buying a new one?

Hi,

I would not put $155 into any GE washer.

While I generally agree about GE washers-does this model recirculate the water while agitating the clothes?

If it does then I would fix it for $ 155. Those models were the last of the good ones.
I have some that have easily done 100K washes with only the occasional transmission replacement.

Other wise a GE is only good for an anchor.
