Default Tub removal - to clean filter
Brand: Kenmore
Model Number: 70
Age: More than 10 years

I need to clean the plastic filter that is located below the tub. I have everything removed, including the spanner nut, but for the life of me I cannot seem to lift the tub off the drive shaft!

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

ACAD

Hi,

Push down and the edges of the tub to try and rock it back and forth.

Put the spanner nut back on, tighten it finger tight, then unscrew it 2 turns,if your right handed, pull up on the spin basket with your left hand, now tap hard on the edge of the nut,but don't hit anything else, a few taps and you should feel the basket jiggle loose. take off nut and remove spin basket. I do this most every day, with no damage to nut or basket. Bettyboop
