Default Transmission replaced - gap at thrust brg
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: wpsf5170w0ww
Age: 5 - 10 years

ok - i just got my new transmission installed, and upon inspection, i notice a gap between the tub / thrust bearing (bushing) and the transmission - gut tells me this is not good, but i can't figure out what i can do to remedy it. unless i pull the agitator and bell and try to tighten up the left hand nut more - but i think that dimension is limited by the platform.... or is it. gap is about 1/8" - looking for suggestions - experience

The frame that the brake bolts into, and that bolts onto the tub - the instructions from the service manual call it the "platform" - it is item 403 here GE Appliance WPSF5170W0WW Parts List
