Default Stopping in middle of cycle
Brand: Maytag
Model Number: MAV6057AWW
Age: 5 - 10 years

We have a 10 year +- Maytag top load washer. ( MOD. MAV6057AWW) My wife says it has been stopping in the middle of the Agitate Cycle. She has to wiggle it or turn the timer a little and it will start to work again.
Problem is .....it has been getting harder and harder to do each time for the last 6 months.
Also.....before this problem started it overflowed on large load last year and she only operates it on medium now because on large she is scared it will flood the utility room again.

Thanks
mrg

It sounds like you may have two different problems:

First, if the timer is stopping in the middle of a cycle and you can get the washer going again by wiggling the timer you will need a new timer.

Second, you may need a new pressure switch if the washer is over filling.

Here is a link to your washer model MAV6057AWW.
