Angry Spins But wont agitate!
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: WWSR3090T8WW
Age: 5 - 10 years

First I want to say Hello to all & Thank You now for any help you can give us!
Next I want to say I have looked over FAQ's and have found close but dont know if it they are for my washer or not cause the model is not the same!
Ok Here it is! Our washer is maken ME really mad! It will Fill up Then Sometimes it will agitate & other times it wont! It will drain & spin Then sometimes after it spins it will agitate! & !
We only have a small bit of room around the washer & have to tare the whole room apart just to move the washer. Do we need to try & remove the agitater first (not figured out how yet) or could this just be a worn belt ? Does my washer even have a belt on it ? I had been told it was the other type that is like a roller type ?
Any help I want to tell ya Thanks Now!

If it sometimes agitates when it is due to spin=bad timer. To confirm this you will need a meter to monitor the timer output voltages. Just check per schematic.
Your control panel will flip down once you take off the top torq screws.

Thanks for your help!
Let me try this again!
Lets say it is working right & doing what it is pose to do BUT, most of the time it will not agitate. I can stand in there with it and turn the timer off & turn it to spin & it does all that right (it just has to drain everything first & then spin)AND then I can turn it back to where it is pose to be agitating and it will agitate like it pose to be doing.
It just has a mind of its own and only works right when it want to and if I have to stand in there with it and go threw all that most of the time my laundry detergent goes with the water & have to start all over! BIG Pain in the hind end!
Thanks Again!

Sounds like a bad water level switch,or a clogged plastic housing at the bottom of the tub. Remove the little plastic hose to it and blow thru it. Pull front panel and pull the same hose off the bottom of tub. Try to clean out the hole in the plastic housing there. If a lot of soap residue there, sometimes you can clear it out with a piece of wire. You may have to remove spin basket to clean out all the way.

THANK YOU!
Ok now! ? ! ? When I took the front off I could see alot of rust that should not be there! Trying to fix first thing first....... I pulled a good one! I undid the little clear hose that goes into the side of the tub with the bleach despin. and was blowing on it and I could hear something clicking and all of a suden it started filling with water! I didnt know the timer switch was pushed in & was on the extra rinse...
The best part was, Ok lets see what this did ? So I put it on low water and was laying in the floor with a flash light when it kicked in and started agitating! I almost PPPPed all over myself because it startaled me so bad!!! LOL
Now I can see water dripping from what appears to be where the trans hooks threw the tub to the agitater? Is there a seal in there that needs replaced? If so how hard is this going to be?
It is 10 years old but we have had it from new?
On a fixed income & don't know how we would get another one!
Thank you again for all your wonderful help!

You will need a special spanner wrench to remove spin basket, Looks like you will need to do that to replace the spin bearing and seal.
