Unhappy Spin cycle is weak
Brand: Whirlpool
Model Number: ultimate care 2
Age: 5 - 10 years

looking underneath, the motor is spinning but the drum will not spin to full speed. depending on the amount of clothing in the drum also depends if the drum will move at all. it just seems as though there is not enough power reaching the drum motor.........everything else seems to work fine, it fills and empties OK. i dont think it turns while agitating though..............heelllp

Can you please supply your model number?

The model number should be in the opening of the washer under the lid.

If the washer is not agitating or spinning the coupler that goes between the motor and transmission may be broken.

If the washer is not spinning at the right speed it could be the clutch.

Here is a link to your washer model 3rgsc9455jq3.

Here is a what you will have to do to replace the coupler:

Unplug the washer.

Locate the two screws in the control panel and remove them. One in each corner at the back of the control panel.

Flip the control panel up toward the wall.

Locate the two brassy looking clips in the corners of the cabinet and release them.

Disconnect the wiring harness for the lid switch.

Open the washer lid and tilt the cabinet toward you and lift it and place it out of your way.

Remove the two clamps holding the pump in place. You do not have to remove the hoses.

Disconnect the wiring harness on the motor.

Remove the two bracket holding the motor in place and lower the motor.
