Default Slow spin, clothes still wet
Brand: Maytag
Model Number: neptune MAH5500AWW
Age: 5 - 10 years

Washer spins slowly, leaves clothes wet. Had recall repair done-motor and control board conversion as well as replaced wax motor. Is there any type of warranty on the replacement board/motor? To purchase these items are in excess of $250. Can I just replace the board (A little less than $200)?

Make sure the door is locking.

If the door is not locking the washer will only spin on low speed.

This could be caused by a failed door lock or the board.

Here is a link to your washer model MAH5500AWW.

stincha, there is a motor control board inside, in the bottom left hand corner. That could be your problem. I normally don't cast opinions, but, do you really want to repair the product? They do have some problems. If money is not too much of a problem, I would check out a Fisher? Paykel washer. It is a top loader, and it spins at 1000 rpms, it uses less water, and less soap. You can view this product at Lowes. When the clothes come out of the washer, they are just about dry. It also is real easy to work on. You also get a 2 year parts and labor warranty on the product. You can washer about 12 to 16 pairs of Jeans at one time. Its a great product. If you are like my wife you want a matching dryer. If so they have two models, a top load dryer, and a front load dryer. I would recommend the top load dryer. Tom
