Unhappy Sick old girl
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: wbsr 1060taww
Age: 5 - 10 years

My washer want stop fillling with water. It will flow over the side and from under the washer machine. I can press the knob to stop the cycle and the water will still be flowing. I got to shut the water off to get it to stop. After that, I set it on the spin cycle to drain out the water in the washer. I can try it again later and my washer will work fine. My washer has overflowed twice with in the last three weeks. Is it the timer? If not that what because I would rather repair my old girl, than buy a new one if its much cheaper.

You have a bad water solenoid in the back of the washer.
