Default Should washer motor freewheel?
Brand: Kenmore
Model Number: 110.26892690
Age: 5 - 10 years

Washer stopped before the spin cycle, I emptied it and removed the pump and motor. The pump had a small seep in the seal but appears OK, the rubber coupler is slightly warn but OK, the transmission turns easily by hand, the motor shaft does not spin. Does it have a shaft lock or brake in there or should it turn freely?
Thanks a ton in advance…

You say your washer washes, but stops before spin right? If your lid switch is broken, it cannot drain or spin, open your control pannel and unplug lid switch and put a paper clip jumper in that plug between the 2 outside wires(do not use the green one, then plug the washer back into the wall and set to spin and pull out timer knob and see it it spins
