It is most likely the heating element or the thermal fuse that sits on top of the heater housing. If you have a meter, put it on ohms and check them out. Of course the dryer needs to be unplugged. If you need me you can reach me at my web site at ApplianceEducator.com Tom

I have the same problem with our Roper, Just tquit heating today. I suppose if the teh thermal fuse is open, that would solve my problem. What kind of reading should I look for across the heating element? I will be opening the dryer up in a little while to see wht I can find. Thanks.

What you have to do is pull the wires off the element, and check it for ohms. Of course the dryer is unplugged. If you get any reading it is good, and the same with the thermal fuse. Of course you should check the voltage coming to the dryer. Tom ApplianceEducator.com
