Default Rinse- spins only on perm press no agitation etc
Brand: Maytag
Model Number: LAT3910AAW
Age: More than 10 years

I took apart cover and saw that the plastic knob was broken, has been for the 5 yrs we lived here and owned it... we have always had to manually move dial -no pull or push) so that was obvious... But the problem is that it will only fill and spin and rinse on Perm press cycle (we never use it) It had been filling and rinsing all by itself $$$ - anyway... A "repair man" came said the knob (part 215828) was broken and the timer assembly (#207373) ? not available.... that cost us $50.00 I can't believe it... please tell me I was ripped off and it is fixable! but don't lie : )

I am not sure why the technician would tell you that the timer is no longer available.

It is available through PartSelect. The part number is Ps60729.

The knob is also available. The part number for the knob is PS62632.

Here is a link to your washer model LAT3910AAW.

The direct drive models are a good choose.

The price will very depending on where you purchase it and the features that you get.

Ok, don't know what that means but I will ask at the store... Do you have a suggestion as to any particular store like... Home depot, Loewes, Best Buy (<do they sell appliances? LOL?)

Direct drive means that it does not have a belt.

If any of these stores sell the Whirlpool line they will have a direct drive washer.
