Unhappy Replacing Tub - Kenmore Front Loader
Brand: Kenmore
Model Number: 80042
Age: More than 10 years

Six year old washer died. repair dude said I need to replace the tub assembly and parts alone will be over $600.00!! I have taken it apart to do myself, but I am having trouble figuring out how to separate the tub from the shell/rear bearing. I am hesitant to start beating on it with a hammer!! please advise. thanks.

The shaft is likely seized to the bearing.

Use a produce called liquid wrench this should free it.
