Default Replaced pump and still won't drain
Brand: Kenmore
Model Number: 11029962891
Age: 5 - 10 years

My Kenmore washer decided to stop draining during a wash cycle. It was full of all of the dirty water and looked like it may have even overflowed. It will go through all of the wash cycle except the drain. I checked to see if water will drain from the tub...it does. I replaced the pump and it will gravity drain through the new pump, but still will not drain the washer during the cycle. When it is on the spin cycle, i can hear clicks, but it just keeps spinning and rinsing until it finishes that cycle. The lid switch seems to work fine and the pump doesn't work in any of the wash cycles. Help!!! I am running out of clean clothes!

When it is in the washer cycle is the agitator moving.

You said that when it is in the spin cycle you can hear click but it just keeps spinning.

What is spinning? The tub should not spin until the water has drained.

Here is a link to the parts of your washer model 11029962891.

The motor should reverse to drain the water and spin.

If the motor is not reversing check the timer contacts.

I think it does agitate, i'll have to double check, but the tub definately spins while full of water and the rinse runs the whole time it is spinning.
