Default Repair Question help
Brand: Frigidaire
Model Number: FWS645GFS
Age: 5 - 10 years

Initially, the basket would not move, I discovered the machine was not level and was actually scrapping plastic. between the basket and drum.
I can not remove the cap to the agitator, is there a trick?
I removed what I could and freed the basket. Leveled the machine.
I proceeded to test a load of laundry.
The machine made some horrible noises doing the spin cycle.
I looked under the machine and found a little metal balls and a round metal piece.
I am assuming these are bearings and I need to replace the bearing.
PS446536
What is the best way to disassemble the machine to replace the bearing.
From the top or bottom?
And any words of wisdom are appreciated.
Thanks

You should check to see what has come apart.

The part that you have selected is a tub bearing and does not have any balls in it.

This bearing is mounted in the tub.

Here is a link to the parts of your washer model FWS645GFS0.
