Default Rear Access Panel
Brand: Maytag
Model Number: MTW2600

Just purchased MAYTAG MTW2600 yesterday and need to add longer electrical cord and longer drain hose. Other washers that I have had were much simpler to access the rear panel. I have removed all the screws that I can, but short of forcing it off I have not been able to completely remove the rear panel. Is there something I am missing or doing wrong? Any help is greatly appreciated!

Can you please verify your model number as I can not locate it on our database?

Wouldn't it just be simpler to add a properly rated and grounded extension cord? As far as the drain hose goes, wouldn't it also simpler be to add an extension to the existing hose also?

It is OK to use a properly rated cord.

The drain on the other hand may be a problem.

This would depend on how long the drain hose would be.

The pump on a washer will only pump about 7 feet.

Cool

That's handy info for future use ma'am. If the drain hose on a washer acts as a type of "P" trap (and I suspect it does), then as long as the extension drained away at floor level, the pump capacity ought to be sufficient, shouldn't it?

If it is a floor drain it should be OK.
