WE had an open neutral in our main electrical supply, and, shockingly! the washer stopped working. Voltage was running between about 60 v and 180v before we could get the power off (electrician checked it once everything was unplugged).

The spin control board was obviously fried (lots of black) but everything else looked good (at least physically). The washer goes through a complete cycle but the lights are wrong on the front panel (says spin when it is washing, etc.). Also, it makes a wierd crackling sort of sound (not electrical crackling, something else). It does spin fine and we are able to wash clothes at least temporarily.

It seems like it might be adding a bit more water, but that could be our imagination. They seemed a bit more damp afterwards but dry enough to put in the dryer

Should we replace the automatic temp control board or anything else? Any suggestions? LIve with the funny noise? Thanks!

I should add that the funny noise is only between cycles.
