Default Older Maytag Washer Squeek
Brand: Maytag
Model Number: A108
Age: More than 10 years

Please advise:

I have a Maytag Washer, Model A108 that developed a very loud squeek after the first spin cycle completes (before going into the rinse cycle). I replaced the belt, but that was not the problem. Everything else works great, but I would like to fix this problem.

Thank you very much!

Does this squeak happen after any other cycle?

No, Sheila. The very loud squeek occurs at the end of the first spin cycle only. Also, when it is cold especially, the agitator moves slowly for a period of time.

Thank you for your advice!

How cold is it where the washer is?

Check the pump and make sure it is turning freely.

Sheila:

The cellar stays fairly warm, but not as warm as the upstairs. Does the pump turn? The clothes wash clean and spin dry. Please advise. Thank you.
