Default Oil in water
Brand: Hotpoint
Model Number: vbxr1070w0aa
Age: 1 - 4 years

Wife was doing laundry earlier and pulled out the whites and they seemed to have little brown spots all over them so I filled the tub with water and then took a clean white cloth and placed it on the top of the water to see if I could get the oil off the top. After I did that I smelled it and found the distinct smell of gear oil will I need to replace the whole gearbox or is there a seal I can replace to solve the problem?? the agitator seems to have a lot of wobble to it also and can not find a way to remove it I am not seeing the bolt they are showing that holds it to the shaft. Please help or it is trash bound....

There are no seals listed that you can replace.

The only thing you could do is replace the whole transmission.

The bolt that you are looking for is under the agitator.

Here is a link to your washer model vbxr1070w0aa.
