My washer acts out of balance (although load is balanced) and makes a grinding noise during the spin cycle. Motor and pump assembly removed and tested, coupling checked . All seem to be in good working condition. Please advise

Remove the white plastic top cover that's attached to your tub, and see if the balance ring on the top of spin basket has been rubbing top cover, or come loose.

I did undo the white plastic top cover but didn't see any balance ring!? Meanwhile, I replaced the snubber that is located at the base of the drum. I washed two loads and the machine didn't move; on the third load it started moving forward again!!!!

What else could I do/verify? Can I just bolt the machine down to the concrete floor...

All whirlpools have a ballance ring, but don't have a snubber, your describing a maytag performa,no ring and a bad snubber, causes real bad vibration
