Default Noise in washer agitator
Brand: Whirlpool
Model Number: 1A9100XTN1
Age: 5 - 10 years

Bottom part of the agitator is working, top part doesn't seem to be. The noise just started sounds like a bearing. I don't see where the agitator comes apart.

What you have to do is replace the agitator dogs. Pull the top off the agitator cap off, and then there is a plastic cover inside, just grab it and pull it up, and then take the screw out of the center, and then pull the agitator out. Then set the agitator on the ground and put your feet on each side of the base, and then grab the top part, and pull up on it annd seperate it. Then you will see the agitaor dogs. Put your model # in on the parts select web site, and you will see a picture of the agitator dogs. If you need me you can reach me at my website at ApplianceEducator.com Tom
