Age: 1 - 4 years

#1 I have noticed oil under the unit for 2-3 years--must be from gearcase. Is it bad??
#2 At the end of the spin cycle the washer makes lots of noise. what can it be?should I replace something before it goes bad? What do you think

Could be a problem in the transmission, oil under it could be normal if its ever been lain over. The transmission on these has a small vent hole that will leak oil if lain over, even during shipping and delivery. Usually unless its been laid over for an extended amount of time it doesn't leak enough to worry about, just will eventually accumulate under it and show up as a very small puddle.

If the transmission is leaking I personally don't think its worth bothering with at this point, unless your wanting to dive into this that far and look at the clutch or brake assembly being a problem as far as the noise your hearing. Typically on one this new the plastic coupling will have worn out well before any of these other problems turn up though.

partselect doesn't show your parts breakdown, but Sears does show it here...

Working on any of these areas of this machine can be rather involved, not nearly as bad as the old Whirlpool belt drives use to be, but still not an easy walk in the park to do yourself.
