Default No spin...sometimes spin
Brand: Kenmore
Model Number: 82427800
Age: 5 - 10 years

spin cycle works intermittently. Used guide to check motor bushing and its OK. Small pool of oil (heavy like grease) under motor/tranny. Motor is running but drum does not turn. When it does turn..not sure if it is full speed.

Model # missing first 3 digits.
If a direct drive and not a front loader, sounds like a bad tranny, or dragging brake shoes. Pull cover off frame and short out lid switch, then run in spin. If the clutch housing above the tranny gets hot this confirms bad brake shoes.
