Unhappy No Spin Cycle
Brand: Kenmore
Model Number: 110.91121110
Age: More than 10 years

I've got no spin cycle on my old Kenmore top loader- this is what I've done so far:
1) Replaced motor coupling- which was about shot
2) Checked trani- looks good
3) Checked Air pressure barrel- fine

Everything works, just no spin. During spin cycle, there is noise, pump is going and motor sounds like it's on. What am I missing here? Please help!
Thanks- Jamie

There is a real good possibilty, that when you put the coupler on, you put in on to far. Does the coupler you have, have a metel insert in the center? If it does you might have pounded it on to far. Do it again. If not I need to know if it is agitating. If it is agitating, and not spining you need a new clutch assembly. You might as well get a new washer. Get on my web site and go to the washer section and fill out the small form, and I will tell you the best washer for your family. Thanks Tom

jrahern;
Your problem is you have a neutral drain transmission, when your washer is thru washing, it then drains in neutral, then when it's about empty, the motor stops for a second or 2 then the trans shifts into spin.(like an automatic trans in your car) they used to sell a trans auto spin kit, to rebuild your transmission. I think they discontinued it because although it was easy for a mechanic to install, they had a lot of unhappy cutomers who had no clue what to do with it(the kit). the norm is to just buy a new trans and replace it!!Check with parts select.
