Default No Perm Press or Regular cycle
Brand: Maytag
Model Number: LAT9605AAE
Age: More than 10 years

My washer will fill up, the timer will advance but on perm press and regular cycles nothing else happens won't spin or aggitate. Delecate cycle works fine. I replaced the belts since the belts appear to be worn, but that didn't help. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

You either have a failed timer or motor.

Where it is not working on either of the cycle that use the regular speed on the motor I would suspect the motor.

Check the voltage to the motor when it is set to the regular cycle.

If you get 115 volts to the motor then you will know it is the motor.

Here is a link to your washer model LAT9605AAE.

Thanks Sheila, after checking the motor voltage I figured out the motor and timer both were bad. I didn't have any voltage present at the motor in regular and perm press cycle, then while checking on the delicate cycle, just to verify, the motor died also. So I guess since the timer is no longer available its time for a new washer. Thanks for your help.
