Default No Agitation. How to remove Gearcase?
Brand: Whirlpool
Model Number: LSQ9264HQ0
Age: 5 - 10 years

I have a Whirlpool, LSQ9264HQ0, that doesn't agitate. I need help / instructions on removing the whole gearcase (PS341974). I think I can see a broken white plastic or ceramic piece in the clutch (next to yellow spring) and will order part number PS334642 or PS348317?, if I can confirm it's broken. However, how do I get access to the clutch? I have removed three bolts from the gearcase and I still can't pull it off. It slides about 1/2 inch and then won't go any further. Thanks for your help.

Before pull ing tranny turn the coupler clockwise till it engages the clutch, is it now hard to turn,if so you have dragging brake shoes. Will need to grind them down halfway and soak in oil. Pull agitator by removing stud on top, then loosten spin basket nut on top of spin basket turn; counter clockwise. Tranny should then slip out. Pry spintube down and check brake shoes and clutch
Sorry for mixup, you probably have a bad tranny, plenty of them around used.
