Default New washer trips breaker
Brand: Whirlpool
Model Number: 5700
Age: Less than 1 year

I have a 2 month old Whirlpool top load washer. It will fill with water then right after it trips the breaker. Its not the breaker or outlet. I had the service man come, he said it was the motor, put a new one in, also put in lid switch. Now he says its the timer or wiring harness. Anyone have any ideas?

Since it is under warranty, tell them to replace both.

It would probably be cheaper for Whirlpool to replace the unit.
I would not mess with it as you may mess up your warranty.
If it is in the wiring harness, there is a chance it blew the board in any case.

What denman said sounds like good advice.
