Default New washer
Brand: General Electric
Age: Less than 1 year

Does anyone know if running a new GE washer with the shipping rod in will hurt the washer. Some guys installed a new one for me today and left the rod in and ran the washer for two cycles. My wife said the washer started bouncing around the floor and was making a heck of a racket. I am thinking about calling them and telling them to come and get this one and replace it. I can't imagine that that would be good for the washer

It would not do any damage to the washer inside.

All the rod or shipping straps do is hold the tub so it can't move during delivery and shipping.

The only thing it will do is make the washer jump around like your wife mentioned.

Your washer should be just fine.
