Question New Belts, adjusted, will not spin
Brand: Maytag
Model Number: LAT9416AAE
Age: 5 - 10 years

Washer agitated ok and on the spin cycle began to squeek and a rubber smell. The belts looked worn.

Replaced them both for $25 and adjusted by the belts packaged direction. Tub still will not spin. I put some gentle pressure on the motor pulling it to the front and the tub still will not spin but you can hear the load on the motor.

Can anyone tell me what the cause of this is? I am not an appliance genuis but have some mechanic skill. I know some repairs warrant just getting a new machine because if cost. Please help!

The bearing in the tube may be seizing up or the break may not be releasing.

Here is a link to your washer model LAT9416AAE.
