The washing machine seems to function ok except in the final segment of the rinse cycle. On the final step of the rinse cycle, where the machine fills up and does one more agitation, the water is coming into the machine, but the drum does not fill up. The pump motor seems to working at this time also and the water is being pumped out as fast as it is trying to fill up. This problem will continue until I moved the knob to the position of “spin” and the water will shut off and the drum starts to spin. What makes this even worse is that the problem is sporadic and does not happen all the time. Can you help with this one? Thanks.

Is the motor actually running when this is happening?

It sounds like the washer is siphoning itself out.

You may need a siphon break installed.

How high is the stand pipe that the drain hose is in?
