Brand: Maytag
Model Number: LAT9406AAE
Age: 5 - 10 years

The agitator will not stay in the gear box, it will lift up with the driveshaft atached. What new parts will I need and how do you go about repairing this.

Are you saying the whole transmission spindle comes off the tranny??

Yes?? The agitator will pull up out of tub with part #PS64164 still attached , I need to know what holds shafts into the transmission.

If a round orbital transmission with a cover plate, it might be possible to pull cover and add the c clip to retain the spindle. Just have never done this before.
