Default My washer won't spin!!!
Brand: Frigidaire
Model Number: FTF2140ES2
Age: 1 - 4 years

My washer will spin for one cycle then when it turn back for the other cycle, it spins for less than 1 minute, we heard the sound "tut" then it stops. We tried to use hands to turn it, but it seems very hard to turn. I tried to open it from the back and check on the motor. This motor turn good(when i tack the belt out), but the tub is hard to turn. I tried to open the tub from the back to see if their is something stuck on that but it hard to open it(I just try to see if is there anything stuck on but i don't believe there is something because as i said earlier that one cycle is good but when it turns back for the other cycle it spins for a while then noice "tut" comes out then it stops).
What's wrong with my washer?
Thank you very much!

It sound like the tub bearing may be seizing up.

Here is a link to your washer model FTF2140ES2.

So if the bearing problem, can we change the bearing? I called a repair man and he said that we didn't use the " HE soap" and he said that one(bearing) can't be changed if it does, it will be cost more than $500? I don't know it is true but i better buy a new one.
Thanks.

If you are mechanically inclined you should be able to do it yourself.

You will have to take the washer apart first to see which parts you will need.

Then you can order them from PartSelect at 1-888-895-1535.

You will likely need number 16 the spin basket and number 22 the outer shell.

So lets look at this

Three hours to pull the machine, strip and install the new parts. Not to mention the trips to the store for a tool or sealant.

How much for the parts?

How old is your machine.

Or call Sears and get a new one for $275.00

I'm all for fixing a machine if it makes economic sense-$ 500 for a repair job --duh.
