Default Motor studders then stops
Brand: Maytag
Model Number: MAH3000AWW
Age: 5 - 10 years

motor studders thens stops while in agitaion cycle, will start one direction then studders on the other. I can stop motor by hand. yet in spin cycle can achive full speed even with a load.
what to replace??? motor and controler or just controler unit or is it the main control board that electical signal comes from. the sound it makes reminds me of a failing relay at the motor, but I think it is solid state.

thanks
dgb

Talking problem solved

I never received a reply form anyone as you can see, so I just read the manuel again and discovered a comment about the motor jerking or as I interpreted studdered. After checking what it suggested, it stated replace motor and controler. I did and problem solved! Works great!

Hope this may help someone else.

God Bless

DGB
