Smelled burning rubber; now won't spin. Water gets pumped out, though. Does this model have a drive belt? How do you open the chassis?
Thanks,

Your washer does have a belt.
To open the washer you will have to remove the front panel.
There are two spring clip between the top and the front panel that you can release using a putty knife.
The washer has a separate pump motor so the washer will drain.
Here is a link to your

Now today is the day I plan to fix my washer GLWS1233AS1. I can't seem to figure how to get the front panel off. There are screws at the bottom and a pair of tenons on each side, BUT ,I can't see the top clips.

You will not be able to see the clip you have to feel for them with the putty knife.
They are two to three inches in from the side.
